A short clip of the film Harry made for Mystery Diagnosis back in October 2010
Hi, Im Harry Crowther, Im 24 years old and I have an extremely rare genetic disorder known as Atypical Progeria Syndrome (Non Classical Progeria) whereby I have a defect with the LAMIN A/C gene (LMNA). Though not to be confused with the classical Hutchinson Guilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS) - both are Premature Aging Disorders. I was diagnosed in the USA aged 7 years old. Together with my Mum I keep this blog. Hope you enjoy my story.

ReplyDeleteHello Harry,
I just saw your story on Mystery Diagnosis and I'd like to make a recommendation for you and your parents.
First of all, I'm not a doctor. My mother instilled a strong questioning attitude in me at an early age.
especially with regard to conventional doctors of western medecine.
I understand you're subject to joint pain with your disorder, so I'd like to recommend you try locating one of the specialist Acupuncturists that have received this "specialized" type of acupuncture training.
Regular Acupuncture will certainly help any arthritis like symptoms, but I think you'll benefit more if you can see one of these specialists.
You'll need to contact them (via e-mail) to see if they can help you find someone in the UK who's had the specialized scalp acupuncture training.

Contact the staff at Dr. Zhu's, and see if they can help you locate

In any case, try to find an acupuncturist who
has this "specialized" training -Scalp acupuncture.

May The Force be with you young one.
